Shah Rukh Khan calls ‘Devdas’ background music ‘bakwas’

The composer shared that he had postponed his wedding five times for the film, and just two days away from getting married, the filmmaker called him to share what SRK felt about the music.Recalling what Khan told Bhansali, the composer revealed, “Monty, Shah Rukh saw the background, and he said, ‘sabse bakwas background hai yeh.” Sharma added that in real life, the actor had used a “cuss word.”

The composer further added that Bhansali said, “What have you done, Monty?” He was shocked after hearing what the filmmaker said. The composer questioned him if he had not listened to it before showing that to SRK. When SLB said yes to his question, he quickly replied, “In that case, how can you say that?”
SLB admits his mistake
After all this, when they met in the studio in Film City, Monty figured that the problem was the mixing that SLB did to the BGM.Monty Sharma said, “The problem was in the background music; there are 16 stems. Each of a different instrument. Together, these sounds create a background. Now, Sanjay Ji, while mixing it, taking whoever’s help, has kept only the first and last stem and silenced all the other 14 stems in the background. Upon hearing it, it sounded bad.”Then he explained scene by scene to the director, and while doing that, he questioned him about where the music he had created was. Monty said, “He went quiet. He eventually realised his mistake.” The composer then asked the filmmaker not to meddle in his work or not to call him for any movie.Sanjay Leela Bhansali later admitted his mistake, and Sharma fixed the BGM.
