When Ranveer Allahbadia recommended Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty 'India’s Got Latent': 'Bohot offensive humour daala hai'

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has recently been granted interim relief by the Supreme Court following widespread criticism for his controversial remarks on Samay Raina’s talent show, India’s Got Latent. The backlash erupted earlier this month when Ranveer posed an inappropriate question regarding “sex with parents” to a contestant while serving as one of the panel members on the show. The clip went viral, leading to heavy online criticism, and multiple FIRs were filed against him.
In the wake of the controversy, several clips from Ranveer’s older podcasts have resurfaced online. One such clip from The Ranveer Show features Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Rohit Shetty during promotions for their upcoming film Singham Again (2024).

During the episode, the trio revisited a memorable scene from Rohit’s Golmaal 3 (2010), where actor Shreyas Talpade’s stammering character shares a phone number. Reflecting on the scene, Shetty admitted that people would heavily troll him if he were to make the film today. Ranveer responded by advocating for the return of such humour, saying, “At some point, I think yeh so-called offensive humour lautega and then boys like us will be happy.”
Ranveer also highlighted the differences in cultural sensitivity between countries, stating that Americans tend to be more easily offended, while Indians are relatively more “chilled.” He further endorsed Samay Raina’s YouTube show, recommending it to both Ajay and Rohit and referring to Samay Raina as his friend. “Wahan bohot offensive humour daala hai. Hyper offensive. Gaaliyaan, direct offence, etc., and every person in the country is watching that show, including adults. Chup chup ke. You can end up watching it alone because you can’t see it with family. But it’s created a… it’s probably the story of YouTube in 2024. One show,” he stated.
Ranveer also pointed out that the show’s audience spans a wide age range—from 7 to 70. During the conversation, Rohit Shetty expressed his appreciation for Samay Raina’s unique speaking style.
