Esha Deol who made her debut in 2002 is known for movies like ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Naa Tum Jaano Na Hum’. While Esha is often respected immensely also being Dharmendra and Hema Malini‘s daughter, did you know that she was once labelled a drug addict. She had opened up on how this article left her depressed. Esha recently made her comeback on screen with Vikram Bhatt‘s ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam‘.
The actress spoke about in Hema Malini’s biography written by Ram Kamal Mukherjee. She said, “I would like to say that I am dead against drugs and I have never touched it. When that article (about her being a drug addict) came out, I was so depressed and hurt that I told my mom she could get my blood test done to check.”
She added, “I would have never done anything that would put my parents to shame. Yes, I would party, I would have a few drinks with my friends, I had my share of fun and why not? That was the right age and time. At that age, everyone parties and drinks; the only issue was that I was in the public eye.”
In this biography, Esha had also spoken about comparisons with her mother. She had said, “The pressure pump started after the films were released and things were written. Then I was like, they are comparing me in my first film to my mother, who has done 200 films.”
Esha was away from the movies for many years after she got married and her two daughters were born. She announced divorce from husband Bharat Takhtani last year and made her comeback to movies this year.
