Sonakshi Sinha who began her career with ‘Dabangg’ managed to create a space for herself despite not fitting into the quintessential Hindi cinema heroine mould when she started off. But just as she began her career, she gave some really big back-to-back hits. In an interview with ETimes, Sonakshi had admitted that there was also a time when she was just sitting at home as she wasn’t getting any new offers after her films were failing. But now she’s been back with a bang with projects like ‘Dahaad’ and ‘Heeramandi’. It’s her birthday today and here’s recalling the time when she revealed the one thing she learnt from her father.Sonakshi had said, “Something which I’ve learnt from my father is that, if you do anything with confidence, you will get away with it. (Laughs).”Talking about her phase of not getting good work, Sonakshi had said, “A good actor is timeless, whether their films work or don’t work. There was a phase when my films didn’t do that well but I was never sitting at home. I was always working. A good actor is always looking for a filmmaker to portray them in a way the world has not seen them.”Sonakshi had also revealed that she’s changed as an actress after working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, thus has gotten more patient. “It was a very grueling set. Sanjay sir is someone who challenges you and pushes you to be the best version of yourself, and I think that is what he has done to me. I’m much more patient and much more resilient. I worked with such an amazing cast of women; I got to learn so much from them,” said the actress.
Sonakshi recently finished shooting for her Telugu debut, ‘Jatadhara’. The actress will also begin work on the next season of ‘Dahaad’ where she played a cop. The actress got married last year with Zaheer Iqbal.
