Hit fitness trainer Tejas Lalavni opened up on the actor’s weight journey. He stated that at one point Vicky’s programme was being led by Kris Gethin and he was only implementing it which was also a major opportunity. He also added that as the shoot progressed, Kris had to leave the country because of visa issues post which took over the training process and as the shoot went ahead Vicky faced an injury on the sets.
Talking about the injury in an exclusive interview with Etimes, Tejas said , “ It was a crucial sequence in Chhaava, one that simply couldn’t be avoided. At first, it seemed like a minor setback, a small pain that he thought would pass. But by the next morning, he was not able to move his arm , he’s not able to flex it. Nobody knew what happened, we went to our physio and he recommended an osteopath and we were told Vicky can’t train for a month. “
“ I met Vicky after 15 days and I could see the impact of the surgery. One arm was visibly larger than the other and it was a difficult injury to recover from but Ivan ( osteopath) was very helpful in Vicky’s recovery . In January we began training again and if the right hand is able to lift 15 kgs , with the left hand we are lifting a 200 ml bottle of water with just 6 to 8 repetitions. Day 1 was very difficult but the disciple that I saw in him was mind blowing he just didn’t give up , he will go for 8 repetition and will aim for the 9th . If he fails on the 9th he will come back next day and do it, from 200 ml bottle we went to 500 ml bottle then 1 kg dumbell and then 2 kg dumbbell and one and half months shoot shifted to wai and he was waking up like warrior , he’s training like a warrior , I would get inspired by him everyday . It was a journey to see him transform after the injury, “ Tejas added.
