‘Vidaamuyarchi’ Box Office Collection Day 2: Ajith and Trisha Krishnan starrer faces a dip; collects Rs 8.75 crore |

Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan‘s latest movie, ‘Vidaamuyarchi,’ directed by Magizh Thirumeni, hit theatres on Thursday and initially performed well, but experienced a drop in collections on its second day.
As per trade analyst Sacnilk, on its opening day, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ raked in Rs 26 crore in India, with Rs 25.5 crore coming from Tamil Nadu and Rs 50 lakhs from its Telugu release, titled ‘Pattudala’. However, the second day saw a significant dip, with the film collecting approximately Rs 8.75 crore, bringing the total to Rs 34.75 crore over two days.
This opening was strong but still less than Ajith’s previous film, ‘Thunivu,’ which earned Rs 24.4 crore on its first day.
‘Vidaamuyarchi’ had a strong Tamil occupancy on its second day recording an overall 36.50%. As the day progressed, occupancy rates steadily increased, with morning shows at 21.48%, afternoon shows at 31.44%, evening shows at 37.25%, and night shows peaking at 55.82%. The steady increase in occupancy throughout the day suggests positive word-of-mouth.
‘Pattudala’ had an overall 15.11% Telugu Occupancy on Friday, February 07, 2025. Similar to its Tamil counterpart, Telugu occupancy rates increased from morning at 9.78% to night shows at 24.63%. Afternoon shows got 14.74% and evening shows got 11.27%.
‘Vidaamuyarchi’ tells the story of a man embarking on a dangerous rescue mission in Azerbaijan to save his kidnapped wife.
The film also features Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra in key roles.
Social media reactions from moviegoers suggest that ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ is a gripping and engaging thriller, with Ajith Kumar delivering a memorable performance.
