Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna have been happily married for years, but their relationship didn’t start with serious intentions. Twinkle once revealed that she only wanted a short fling with Akshay after coming out of a long relationship. She shared this in 2016 on Koffee With Karan. While Akshay denied it, Twinkle admitted she wasn’t looking for anything serious at first.
Twinkle’s Humorous Take on Their Early Days
When Karan Johar brought up that Akshay and Twinkle’s relationship started as a fling, Twinkle responded, saying, “I had come out of a long-term relationship, and I wanted to have a fling. There he was – six feet of chocolate ice cream. So, I decided I’m going to have a fling with him, and it was going to last 15 days because that was the outdoor (shooting duration). Initially, Akshay denied that their relationship started as a fling, but he was later taken aback by Twinkle’s confession. He then reflected on how things progressed, mentioning that they got married, built a life together, and are now happily raising their two children.

KJo also mentioned that Twinkle had once joked about marrying Akshay if her film Mela flopped. Akshay, however, clarified the situation, revealing that he had actually proposed to her. Twinkle, confident that Mela would succeed, had responded by saying, “If it doesn’t work, I’ll marry you.”
