Throwback: When Rashmika Mandanna blushed shared about her crush on Thalapathy Vijay |

Rashmika Mandanna is one of the most sought-after actors in the Indian film fraternity, having worked with multiple stars across multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and others. The ‘Pushpa’ actor had also worked with Tamil superstar Vijay Thalapathy in the 2023 film, ‘Varisu’. Throwback to the time when she revealed that her crush on Thalapathy Vijay wasn’t just fleeting admiration, but something deeply rooted in childhood.
Vijay as her dream boyfriend
During the early promotional rounds of ‘Bheeshma’, as per a TOI report, the star was asked to name her ideal actor as a friend, boyfriend, and husband. Without hesitation, Rashmika said she’d pick Nithiin as a friend, but when it came to a boyfriend, she answered, stating Vijay. She shared she had “always loved Vijay Thalapathy” since childhood and considered him her dream crush.
From fan to film lead
She went on to confess that she had been waiting to share the screen with him, even stating that she hoped to work with him someday. Her dream did come true as she starred opposite the ‘Theri’ star in the 2023 film, ‘Varisu’. Interestingly, she had an opportunity to star with him in the film Vijay’s ‘Master’, however, it didn’t align with her schedule.During her collaboration, she shared an Instagram post, where she wrote, “Ok, now this feels like something else… Been watching sir for years and years, and now to do everything that I’ve been wanting to do… act with him, dance with him… everything… yaaaaay, finally!” The post accompanying that caption was the Pooja Muhurat picture for ‘Varisu’, which she described with enthusiasm and genuine admiration.
Dating the other Vijay?
Interestingly, speaking of her relationship status, she has been heavily rumoured to be dating her ‘Dear Comrade’ and ‘Geetha Govindam’ co-star Vijay Deverakonda. However, they haven’t confirmed it yet.On the work front, Rashmika was last seen in the Tamil drama thriller, ‘Kuberaa’, starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna. She is working on her upcoming films, including ‘The Girlfriend’, ‘Thama’ and ‘Mysaa’.She also expected to be starring opposite Vijay Deverakonda in the film tentatively named ‘VD14’.
