Following the massive impact of the 2023 original, ‘The Kerala Story,’ filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah is returning with a sequel that promises to delve even deeper into harrowing accounts that are “inspired by many true events.”
‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’ official teaser released
The makers of the National Award-winning film ‘The Kerala Story’ have released the official teaser for its sequel, titled ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond.’ After weeks of buzz following a haunting motion poster, the teaser offers the first glimpse into the narrative. The 2.06 minute teaser is accompanied by the caption, “Our daughters don’t fall in love, they fall in traps. Ab sahenge nahin… ladenge.” (We won’t tolerate... we’ll fight)Directed by National Award winner Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the sequel shifts the focus toward stories across the states. The teaser features three women recounting their tales. Surekha Nair from Kerala was an IAS aspirant, Neha Sant from Madhya Pradesh is a javelin throw player who aspired to represent India at Olympics and Divya Paliwal from Rajasthan aspired to be a social media influencer with dancing as her passion.
The teaser suggests that it will explore the long-term aftermath and systemic layers of the issues introduced in the 2023 blockbuster.
‘The Kerala Story 2’ cast
Unlike the first film, which was headlined by Adah Sharma, the sequel introduces a fresh cast of talented actresses. Ulka Gupta is best known for her powerful performances in television and regional cinema. Aditi Bhatia is also a popular face. Aishwarya Ojha rounds out the lead trio of the high-stakes dramatic film.The film is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on February 27, 2026. Written by Amarnath Jha and Vipul Amrutlal Shah, with music by Mannan Shaah and lyrics by the renowned Manoj Muntashir. The first film was grossed over Rs. 300 crore.
