In a recent interview with Official People of India, Tahira shared that Ayushmann was just starting his journey as a VJ when they moved to Mumbai. “I had spent some money on my wedding but I had my own savings. But, I didn’t have a job in Mumbai. We had just gotten married and I was still applying for jobs,” Tahira revealed. But she didn’t expect that her savings would soon be exhausted even if she was financially independent at that time.“This boy did not understand how we were getting the food, like how we were buying all of these vegetables, fruits. My bank balance was depleting. I had never asked anyone for money, even my parents. When Ayushmann expressed surprise and asked why she hadn’t asked him for money, she explained that she couldn’t bring herself to do so and expected him to share the responsibility of running the household with her.
