Shah Rukh Khan is celebrating his 60th birthday today, and a lot of celebrities have wished the superstar on his big day. Amidst the buzz around the actor, filmmaker Rahul Dholakia, who helmed his film ‘Raees’, shared that when the actor’s team wanted him to have a fancy chicken in a movie scene, the superstar decided to go with homemade mutton instead.
Rahul Dholakia reveals Shah Rukh Khan ate mutton over chicken
In an interview with SCREEN, Rahul Dholakia revealed that there was a scene in the movie where Shah Rukh Khan and Zeeshan Ayyub were sitting together and eating at a dhaba.
Dholakia stated that, in the scene, the actor was supposed to be seen eating mutton. However, the film team was told the actor will not have mutton, and his food will come from a five-star hotel, which will be chicken.He said, “I got all of that, but the scene didn’t work till he ate the mutton the way it was supposed to be eaten, because he was a miya bhai from the ghettos of Gujarat. He isn’t a sophisticated guy; he isn’t Shah Rukh Khan in that scene.”The filmmaker shared that he got his homemade mutton with bones and fancy chicken from the five-star hotel as well on the set.Dholakia revealed that he told the actor that he should be eating mutton and not chicken for the scene. The director shared, “He said, ‘Mai toh mutton hi khaaunga na (I will eat the mutton only). That’s okay; you put the mutton over there and don’t tell the team.’ Then, he ate that mutton how Miya Bhai would eat or how someone who enjoys eating it, by tapping and sucking the bones.”The filmmaker shared that the scene turned out to be a natural and interesting one.
