Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have forged one of the strongest friendships in Hollywood and interestingly, they have their exes to thank. Getting candid about her early days in the music industry and the start of her friendship with Swift and what really got them together.In a recent chat on a podcast, the ‘Only Murders in the Building’ star was asked about her friendship with Swift. She quipped, “Taylor and I dated the Jonas Brothers.” Laughing off their past romances, she said, “I dated Nick and she dated Joe. We were like young. We didn’t know what we were doing.”While their teenage romances with the famous boy band didn’t stand the test of time, Gomez shared that the two of them earned something far more meaningful – their enduring friendship. “She and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other,” Selena added.She also revealed that Taylor played her song ‘Love Story’ in their hotel room, long before the track was even released. “It was one of those songs I instantly heard and thought that this was one of the most beautiful songs ever.”

Now, more than a decade later, Selena and Taylor remain two of the biggest names in music and one of the closest BFFs in Hollywood. Taylor moved on from her relationship with Joe Jonas and famously wrote the song ‘Mr Perfectly Fine’. She is now dating NFL star Travis Kelce.

New Romances

As far as Selena’s friendship with Nick is concerned, the singer’s hit track ‘I’m Sorry’ was long rumoured to be about the failed romance. However, the star rubbished the reports, telling People, “It’s definitely not about Nick Jonas. It’s about someone back home in Texas. When I read it, I was like, ‘Oh no this gossip has to go away!’ I haven’t known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I’ve gotten really close with all of them.”Selena is currently engaged to Benny Blanco and is rumoured to be prepping up for her big wedding soon. Nick, on the other hand, went on to eventually marry Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra. The two are parents to a daughter Malti.
