Salman Khan on Bollywood’s silence over ‘Sikandar’: ‘I need support too’ | Hindi Movie News

Salman Khan‘s ongoing star power has helped ‘Sikandar’ fight expectations, despite receiving harsh reviews from both audiences and critics. The film has collected over Rs 85 crore in just three days and is on track to become Salman’s 18th film to cross the Rs 100-crore mark.
Industry’s response to ‘Sikandar’
A viral clip from one of Khan’s interviews has sparked renewed discussions about Bollywood’s selective support. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the host noted that despite Salman often promoting his colleagues’ films, the industry has been largely silent about ‘Sikandar’.
Salman’s perspective
Salman responded by suggesting that others might believe he doesn’t require their support. However, he emphasized that everyone, including himself, needs support.
Supporting fellow actors
Khan shifted his focus to upcoming and recent releases, demonstrating his ongoing support for fellow actors. He highlighted Sunny Deol‘s upcoming mass-action film ‘Jaat’, scheduled for release on April 10, 2025. He also praised the Malayalam blockbuster ‘L2: Empuraan‘, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, which premiered just two days before ‘Sikandar’ and is already achieving remarkable success.
Industry support for ‘Sikandar’
Notably, Sunny Deol was the only Bollywood star to publicly promote Sikandar, sharing a supportive post on social media for Salman’s film. Although Aamir Khan appeared in a promotional video with Salman and director AR Murugadoss, the overall lack of industry-wide support has been quite evident.
