Sabrina Carpenter stunned the Grammy crowd with her onstage performance, but not everyone was happy with it. PETA, one of the biggest animal rights organizations in the world, issued an official statement only hours after Carpenter graced the Grammy stage, condemning her for using live animals for her setup.
Animal rights organization calls out Sabrina Carpenter
Taking to their social media account, one of the biggest animal rights organizations called the ‘Espresso’ singer for using a bird for her Grammy performance. They called her actions “stupid, slow, useless, and cruel.”The post officially read, “Did Sabrina Carpenter really just bring a bird on stage in 2026?! The Manchild singer is giving childlike behavior. Leave animals out of the #GRAMMYs,” while also adding a photo of the singer on stage with a bird sitting on her hands. On the image, they further added the caption “Bright lights, loud noise, and handling cause fear and distress for a bird who belongs flying free in the open sky.”

The singer was the opening act for the glamorous night as she entered the stage in an airport-themed set. She was dressed in all white with a captain’s hat on her head. Near the end of the show, she sat down in the middle of a silver plane set up. Once the platform starts moving, all of a sudden, the singer pulls out a dove that sits on her hand as she reaches the top of the stage, and the songs come to an end. Sabrina Carpenter was nominated for a total of 6 awards at the Grammys: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Music Video, Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
