Veteran actor Raza Murad recently shared heartwarming memories from his childhood, including an amusing incident where a young girl he loved bit his nose. The actor also spoke about how he ended up marrying his wife, Shahrukh Murad.
In an interview with ANI, Murad opened up about an unexpected childhood incident that left a lasting impression. Recalling the moment, he narrated how a young girl from his neighbourhood once bit his nose in a fit of anger.
“She was a child. I was also a child. I must have been five years old. She used to live in the neighbourhood. I liked her a lot. I tried to get close to her… in anger, she bit my nose. My nose started bleeding. I cried a lot… then my family came. That was my first experience of love,” Murad shared. He described it as his first encounter with love and how he got hurt by it.
Raza also reflected on his marriage to Shahrukh Murad, revealing how he placed complete trust in his mother’s decision when choosing his life partner. He recalled that he had initially hoped to find the right person on his own but struggled to do so. He shared that he had hoped to marry by the age of 25 or 26 but found it difficult to find the right partner. Despite meeting many prospects, he always felt that something was lacking. Emphasising the importance of a kind heart in a life partner, he acknowledged that no one is perfect but believed in choosing someone with whom he could share his life.
His mother eventually took charge and found a match for him in Bhopal. Trusting her instincts completely, Murad agreed to the marriage without even seeing his future wife’s photograph.
“Anyway, my mother said, ‘You have seen a lot of girls and rejected many of them. Now I am going to see a girl for you.’ So she went to Bhopal. And in Bhopal, she saw my future wife. She liked her. And she came back and said, ‘I have seen a girl for you; you should meet her.’ I said no, I have full faith in your choice—you cannot choose the wrong girl for me. I did not even see her photograph. I was so confident in my mother’s choice that I knew she would never be wrong,” he added.
Raza Murad and his wife, Shahrukh, have built a strong and loving family over the years. The couple is blessed with two children, Ayesha and Ali.
