‘My gratitude to the Motherland’: Mammootty reflects on Padma Bhushan win
Superstar Mammootty received the Padma Bhushan for his artistic contributions, marking his second Padma Award. He also clinched the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for ‘Bramayugam’. Fans anticipate his upcoming projects, including ‘Patriot’ with Mohanlal and Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s ‘Padayaatra’, his fourth collaboration with the acclaimed director.

Mammootty, who was conferred the Padma Bhushan on Sunday, January 25, has reflected on the win. This is his second Padma Award. The superstar was awarded the Padma Shri in 1998. Mammootty was awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award, for his contribution to art. In a note shared on his X (formerly Twitter) timeline, Mammootty expressed gratitude to the nation for the honour. “My gratitude to the Motherland. ‘Padma Bhushan’. My heartfelt thanks to the nation, the people, and the Government for honoring me with this civilian honour. Republic Day Wishes to everyone,” Mammootty wrote on X.
