Tom Cruise’s latest action spectacle, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, has maintained its steady momentum at the Indian box office. On Wednesday, the film collected an estimated Rs 2.15 crore on its twelfth day across all languages, according to data from Sacnilk.The film, which released in India, has so far amassed approximately Rs 79.50 crore in net collections, inching closer to the Rs 80 crore milestone. Despite a minor dip in weekday numbers following its strong second weekend, the action thriller continues to draw audiences into theatres.Although performing well, The Final Reckoning is currently trailing behind its predecessor, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which closed its India run with Rs 131.25 crore, after earning Rs 80.6 crore in its first week alone.Amidst the film’s success, Cruise took to social media on Tuesday to thank his collaborators and fans. In a heartfelt post, he expressed gratitude to the cast, crew, studios, and especially the audience, after the film reportedly set a new Memorial Day weekend record in the US, where it was released on 23 May.“This weekend was one for the history books,” Cruise wrote. “Congratulations and thank you to every filmmaker, every artist, every crew member, and every single person who works at the studios… And most of all, thank you to audiences everywhere—for whom we all serve and for whom we all love to entertain.”The combined collection of Mission Impossible and Lilo & Stitch, broke the Memorial Day weekend record scoring a total collection of $552.3 million at the global box office.Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film marks the eighth chapter in the iconic Mission: Impossible franchise and features Tom Cruise reprising his role as Ethan Hunt. The franchise, which debuted in 1996, has become synonymous with high-stakes espionage and daring stunts.
