Jordan played the role of Erik Killmonger, the main villain from ‘Black Panther’ who wants to take over the title and destroy T’Challa. While in conversation with CBS Sunday Morning, the actor revealed that the role stuck with him, well after the overall filming was over.He further added, “Went to therapy, talked about it, found a way to kind of just decompress. And I think at that point, I was still learning that I needed to decompress from a character. You know, there’s no blueprint to this.”The ‘Sinners’ star further shared that he went through a lot to prepare for the character, and would often isolate himself and stay away from his family to ensure that he was focused. “Erik didn’t really know a lot of love. I think Erik didn’t experience that. He had a lot of betrayal, a lot of failed systems around him that shaped him and his anger and his frustration. And looking at history and how it would seem to always repeat itself, and how he was going to break that cycle,” Jordan further explained.
