Sara Ali Khan’s latest release Metro… In Dino directed by Sara Ali Khan, has officially closed its first week at the box office with an estimated Hindi net collection of rs 26.75 crore, securing the fifth spot among her highest-grossing films in the domestic market. This modern-day romantic drama featuring an ensemble cast of Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta, was one of the more anticipated releases of the year. But the film failed to managed to strike the right chord with the masses- though there has been a niche audience who has really liked the film and are recommending it to others, thereby having a steady first week run. The film opened with Rs 3.5 crore on Friday and showed promising growth over the weekend, with Rs 6 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.25 crore on Sunday. While collections dipped during weekdays — a common trend for non-commercial genre films — it still maintained decent figures: Rs 2.5 crore on Monday, Rs 3 crore on Tuesday, Rs 2.35 crore on Wednesday, and Rs 2.15 crore on Thursday (early estimate), bringing the week-one total to Rs 26.75 crore. With this performance, Metro… In Dino has become Sara’s fifth highest-grossing film in Hindi. It now sits behind Love Aaj Kal (Rs 39.76 crore), Kedarnath (Rs 68.57 crore), Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (Rs 88.35 crore), and her biggest commercial success to date, Simmba, which amassed a staggering Rs 240.3 crore. For Sara, this milestone is a testament to her consistent presence in diverse genres—from the romantic intensity of Kedarnath to the mass appeal of Simmba, and now the urban, emotional tone of Metro… In Dino. Despite facing stiff competition at the box office and the challenge of ensemble storytelling where no single actor dominates screen time, Sara’s performance has stood out and garnered appreciation.Sara Ali Khan is now slated to team up with Ayushmann Khurrana in not one but two films. One is an action comedy backed by Karan Johar’s production house while other being Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 with Mudassar Aziz and Wamiqa Gabbi.
