An OTT giant unveiled the 2026 lineup of projects on the platform at the event, and the film is one of them. The movie will feature the actor as a corrupt police officer. However, as soon as it was announced, it landed in a controversy. Here’s what happened.

The teaser of ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’ introduces Manoj Bajpayee’s character as senior inspector Ajay Dixit, who is infamous in Delhi with the name Pandat. He had joined as an SI in the police force 20 years ago and always comes back to the same rank due to his bad service record. The film has been presented by Neeraj Pandey. Take a look at the teaser. However, it was not the film’s plot but the title that became the center of the controversy. Social media users called out the makers for targeting a specific community through its title. Netizens demanded a change of title, or the movie will face a boycott.A person posted, “According to Netflix, terrorism has no religion, but corruption apparently has a caste.” Another person added, “I urge @MIB_India to take immediate cognizance of this movie and strictly ask its producers to change movie’s derogatory title; otherwise, ban this! How could you do this, @BajpayeeManoj?”An individual added, “Highly casteist this is. What if a so-called lower caste was called corrupt?” A comment read, “What the hell do you mean by using casteist slurs? And Pakistani versions of the word Pandit?
