Mahesh Bhatt showered praise on his daughter Alia Bhatt during a recent interaction. The filmmaker stated that he had no idea of her having so much “thirst” for acting. The director also shared how Alia and his son-in-law, actor Ranbir Kapoor, are different from each other.

On the Himanshu Mehta show, the ‘Saaransh’ director stated that he didn’t launch Alia in the film industry, but it was Karan Johar.” He further shared that the actress gave the audition herself, and the makers loved it. Mahesh Bhatt went on to say that he never saw any acting traits in her, but he is happy that Alia is a “self-made girl.”
The proud father also added that the fact Alia loves taking risks with her movies has always “astounded” him. He said, “She’s taken the detours into diverse narratives.”

On the show, the ‘Sadak’ filmmaker went on to reveal that even his son-in-law, Ranbir Kapoor, is in awe of his daughter. Sr. Bhatt recalled Ranbir saying that Alia is made of “different stuff.” When the director asked RK to elaborate on what he said, the actor replied, “Her ambition to do more and more and more is unbelievably astounding!”Sharing further, Mahesh Bhatt said that Kapoor is a person who is very “laid-back and comforted” and just wants to do enough. He added, saying, “She’s a go-getter.”

The filmmaker didn’t stop there as he praised Alia and how she has changed after giving birth to daughter Raha. The ‘Naam’ helmer stated that the actress has gone through an “alchemical change” post bringing Raha into the world in 2022. He said, “I see a new depth in her.” Admiring the changes in Alia, he said that his young girl turning mother, he could see a different kind of maturity in her. Well, not just that, the filmmaker is also excited about her upcoming films.

Alia Bhatt will next feature in the YRF spy-universe film ‘Alpha,’ headlined by Shiv Rawail. Co-starring Sharvari, the film is slated to hit theatres in December this year. She will also feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s ‘Love & War,’ co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
