KL Rahul was once a ‘third wheel’ on Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s dinner date: ‘That made me feel like…’ | Hindi Movie News

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have always been more than just a star couple, they’ve also been strong pillars of support for their close friends. One such moment was shared by Indian cricketer KL Rahul, who once revealed how the couple helped him during a low phase in his cricket career. In a past chat on the show ‘Open House with Renil’, KL Rahul looked back on his Test debut in 2014 and how it turned out to be far from ideal. But what made that difficult memory meaningful was the kindness shown by Virat and Anushka.
Rahul’s debut match didn’t go well
KL Rahul made his Test debut for India against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2014. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the start he had hoped for. He admitted he felt disappointed and lost after the match. Anushka was present in Australia at the time, and she noticed that Rahul looked visibly upset after the game. Instead of staying away, she decided to check on him personally. “Both of them have been very good to me, and I have a great story to tell you,” Rahul shared. He added, “Anushka was at the match in Australia, and after I got out, she saw that I was down and dejected while my thoughts were all over. She came to my room and insisted that I shouldn’t be alone or dwell on my performance. She and Virat offered to take me out for dinner or sightseeing.”
Anushka and Virat took him out
To lift his spirits, Anushka and Virat didn’t just offer comforting words, they invited him to join them for dinner. This gesture gave Rahul a chance to feel a little lighter, even though it meant stepping into their private space. He revealed, “I third wheeled on one of the dinner dates, both Virat and Anushka shared their stories describing moments when they had endured failure in their careers. That made me feel like I wasn’t the only one who ruined his first impression.”
Rahul thanked Anushka for her support
Reflecting on the moment, Rahul admitted he was touched by how thoughtful Anushka had been, especially since she didn’t have to go out of her way to help him. Her presence, kindness and understanding left a strong impact. He said, “It was nice of Anushka to do it, as I didn’t know how she could understand what I was going through.”On the work front, Anushka Sharma was last seen in a brief cameo in the OTT film ‘Qala’. At present, she appears to be enjoying a break from acting, focusing on her family and embracing motherhood. Reports indicate that Anushka is currently based in London, living with her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, and their children.
