Kate Hudson shuts down criticism over ‘Song Sung Blue’ and Michael Sardina Jr. calling her ‘monster’: ‘Not the right person’ |
Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman’s ‘Song Sung Blue’ acts as a retelling of a Neil Diamond tribute act. While their performances have been praised by many, Michael Sardina Jr., the son of the late Mike Sardina (who inspired the film), has condemned the actors of the show. He even goes as far as labeling Kate Hudson a “monster.” In a new statement, the ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ actress has finally responded to the claims made by the musician’s son.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hudson was asked about what she thought of Michael Sardina Jr.’s comments about her and Hugh Jackman and ‘Song Sung Blue.’ When asked about the matter, the actress kept her answer small and replied, “Honestly, I don’t even know. Out of respect for our filmmakers, I’m not the right person to speak to it.”
Further, she talked about meeting the real Claire Hudson for the film and how great of an experience it was for her. She concluded by saying, “I’m so happy that I got to know Claire, who’s such a wonderful woman, and she’s so happy with the movie.”
What did Michael Sardina Jr. have to say about ‘Song Sung Blue’
The film was inspired by the real-life couple Claire Sardina and the late Mike “Lightning” Sardina, who made a Neil Diamond tribute act and became world famous for it. Last month, while talking to The Daily Mail, Sardinia’s son was asked about his thoughts on the film based on his parents. The man had stated at the time that he was paid to be a consultant for the film; however, he was purposefully cut out of the project. He also stated that the film did not do his father’s story any justice, and he wants “the real thing” to be out there.Concluding his statement, Jr. further talked about Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman’s press tour following the film’s promo. He stated, “Every interview that those monsters have been on national television don’t even mention my existence at all, even though I was the most prevalent force in my father’s life, even when I wasn’t in Wisconsin, because I’m his only son. They didn’t even try to contact me . . . They didn’t try to get more information... They could have very easily asked Craig (Brewer).”
