Kartik Aaryan has officially kicked off the shoot of his new film, ‘Naagzilla’. Sharing the exciting update on Instagram this Saturday, the actor uploaded a photo showing him smiling brightly while holding a clapboard that featured the movie’s title and director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s name.
Traditional puja marks the beginning of ‘Naagzilla’
Before the shooting began, a haldi teeka was placed on the clapboard, hinting that the team conducted a traditional puja. Kartik highlighted the special day in his caption, sharing that he started filming ‘Naagzilla’ while also marking the one-year milestone of his hit movie ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. He wrote, “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 Day 1 of #Naagzilla Har Har Mahadev.”
Kartik Aryan’s role and first look reveal
In ‘Naagzilla’, Kartik takes on the character of Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichadaari Naag. The first glimpse of the actor in this role was revealed in April this year. Karan Johar had shared the motion poster along with the words, “Insanon wali picharein toh bahut dekh li, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar! #NaagZilla – Naag lok ka pehla kaand… Funnn phailaane aa raha hai – Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki Sssssinemas mein – 14 August 2026 ko!”.
Production details and release date of ‘Naagzilla’
The film is produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and Sujit Jain. Although plot details are still under wraps, there is buzz about its potential to grow into a franchise based on the success of this first movie. While the cast hasn’t been officially revealed, reportedly Ravi Kishan is part of the lineup, awaiting confirmation. This project marks Kartik’s second film with Karan Johar, following ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Tu Meri’. ‘Naagzilla’ is scheduled to hit theaters on August 14, 2026.
