According to Raj Kapoor: The One and Only Showman, a book by his daughter Ritu Nanda, Raj had jokingly told Babita, Kareena and Karisma’s mother, that he would only visit the hospital after his first grandchild’s birth if the baby had blue eyes. Babita recalled that on the day Karisma was born at Breach Candy Hospital, the entire family was present—except Raj Kapoor.
