Karan expressed deep regret over Sushant’s absence, recalling how the ‘Kedarnath’ actor always believed in his talent and supported him during tough times. He shared his disbelief that someone as successful as Sushant would uplift him by calling him “better.” Karan acknowledged how Sushant’s encouragement gave him strength and motivation.
He described Sushant’s passing as a heartbreaking and untimely loss, admitting that he still struggles to come to terms with it. “I regret and curse myself for not being there for him. It would have taken just a moment to say, ‘Kamini, main aa raha hoon.’ But I couldn’t do it—it just didn’t happen. I’ll carry this regret to my grave, knowing that I couldn’t be there for him when he was always there for me,” he said.

Mehra recounted his shock upon hearing about Rajput’s passing, initially mistaking it for news about Sushant’s manager. He was in Delhi at the time and, along with his family, remained in stunned silence for hours, unable to process the tragedy. The situation felt even more distressing due to the COVID lockdown, which restricted their ability to react or reach out.
Reflecting on the pain of losing Sushant, Karan admitted that it still weighs on him. He goes down memory lane whenever the topic arises. “I want to punish myself. That is why I am so forgiving in life,” he shared.
