Justin Baldoni's legal team reacts to Blake Lively's amended lawsuit; netizens predict actress and husband Ryan Reynolds will LOSE $400 Million battle

The legal feud surrounding It Ends With Us continues to intensify, this time, with Blake Lively amending her lawsuit against the director and actor Justin Baldoni.
Baldoni submitted his first amended complaint on January 31, two weeks after initiating the lawsuit on January 16. Lively, in turn, requested an amendment to her counter-lawsuit, which she officially filed on February 18, the final day of her short extension granted by Judge Lewis J. Liman.
According to her lawyers Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, the amended version “provides significant additional evidence and corroboration of her original claims” and “includes previously undisclosed communications” involving Lively, Sony, Wayfarer Studios and “numerous other witnesses.”
In response, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, issued a strong rebuttal, dismissing the new claims as “underwhelming” and filled with “unsubstantial hearsay.”
In a statement to People, Freedman said, “Our clients have been transparent in providing receipts, real-time documents and video showing a completely different story than what has been manipulated and cherry-picked to the media. Our clients have taken this matter and these issues very seriously notwithstanding the jokes made publicly by the plaintiff and her husband.”
“Her underwhelming amended complaint is filled with unsubstantial hearsay of unnamed persons who are clearly no longer willing to come forward or publicly support her claims,” said Freedman and added, “Since documents do not lie and people do, the upcoming depositions of those who initially supported Ms Lively’s false claims and those who are witnesses to her own behaviour will be enlightening. What is truly uncomfortable here is Ms Lively’s lack of actual evidence.”
Lively’s latest complaint, now 138 pages long, introduces additional claims of defamation and civil conspiracy and alleges that two more women felt “uncomfortable” interacting with Baldoni on set. Furthermore, her team disputes Baldoni’s allegations that she took control of the film’s production and minimized his contributions.
Freedman argued that his client has provided the necessary documents that contradict Lively’s claims, asserting that “documents do not lie, people do.”
Netizens have taken to social media to speculate on the possible outcome of the case, with many convinced that Blake and Ryan could face a significant financial setback of $400 million. Discussions online suggest that the strength of Baldoni’s legal team, coupled with the weight of evidence they claim to possess, may tilt the case in his favour. “So far no receipts, just hearsay and vibes,” read a comment.
Another said, “Excerpt from Blake Lively’s amended lawsuit. This has got to be a joke. Translation: we couldn’t convince anyone to put their name to supporting our heinous lies, so you’ll just have to take our word for it that we’re telling the truth.”
Another added, “So now Blake Lively is no longer claiming that Justin Baldoni dragged his lips on her neck while saying “it smells so good”.Are we supposed to just forget that accusation??”
Still another said, “Blake Lively includes screenshot of mean comments on social media to prove the alleged “retaliation campaign” but she can’t include a single screenshot to backup her HR complaint? Or her alleged texts to Liz Plank?? This is genuinely INSANE.”
Meanwhile, others seemed convinced that Ryan, who attained billionaire status following his investiment and other business ventures, may just have to shell out $400 million in damages. “At this point why did Blake Lively even do an amended complaint she basically added nothing to it just a bunch of word salad and claims w/o evidence. Oh girl you’re gonna lose this 400M lawsuit,” read a comment.
Another said, “Blake lively is lying on a man in a lawsuit and everyone knows. Everyone is saying she’s about to lose this for $400 million lawsuit.”
“Just read the amended complaint of blake lively, and this woman actually has no evidence. I cant wait to see you lose your case and 400M to baldoni,” said another.
The ongoing legal developments and public scrutiny continue to fuel debates over the high-stakes lawsuit.
Adding another layer to the legal battle, Lively filed a new motion on February 14 requesting telecommunication subpoenas for 14 plaintiffs covering a period of two and a half years, starting from December 1, 2022. Baldoni’s legal team has vehemently opposed the request, denouncing it as an “overreach.”
Judge Liman has scheduled a new hearing on February 24.
