How did Aamir Khan’s one film at a time decision come into being | Hindi Movie News

Aamir Khan, often referred to as Bollywood’s ‘Mr. Perfectionist,’ is known for his dedication to his craft. However, his journey to working on one film at a time wasn’t easy. The superstar has shared that in the early days of his career, he had to juggle multiple projects before finally taking control of his working style.
Reflecting on his initial years in the industry during his conversation with Instant Bollywood, Aamir mentioned that after the massive success of his debut film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, he was flooded with offers and ended up signing around 8-10 films. However, he soon realized that this approach was not suitable for him. Unlike many actors of that era who worked on several films simultaneously, he preferred dedicating his full attention to one project at a time.
Despite his preference, the producers and directors of that period were not willing to accommodate his request. He reportedly tried to convince them but faced resistance, leaving him with no choice but to work on multiple films at once. However, he attempted to limit his workload as much as possible, often working on two to three films at the same time.
It was only after the making of Lagaan (2001) that he was able to establish more control over his career. The film, which became a turning point for him, not only earned international recognition but also provided him with the leverage to his terms in Bollywood. He stated that after Lagaan, the industry became more receptive to his working style.
Following this success, Aamir made a firm decision to work on only one film at a time. This shift in approach allowed him to focus entirely on each project, leading to some of the most iconic performances in Bollywood, including Dil Chahta Hai, Rang De Basanti, Dangal, 3 Idiots, Ghajini , PK and many more.
