Govinda visited the sacred Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. Several pictures and videos of him from inside the temple surfaced on social media, showing his devotion.
Govinda performed rituals at the temple
Govinda was seen wearing a yellow kurta and white pyjama, with a tika on his forehead. He performed the traditional ritual of pouring water on the Nandi idol, a common practice among Lord Shiva’s devotees. He also folded his hands in prayer and received blessings from the temple priests.

Situated on the banks of the Shipra River, the Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, making it one of the most important shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. Many Bollywood celebrities often go to Ujjain to seek divine blessings.
Govinda’s divorce rumours
Apart from his spiritual journey, Govinda’s personal life was in the spotlight a while ago. The actor has been married to Sunita Ahuja since 1987, and they have two children—daughter Tina and son Yashvardhan. But last month, many rumours surfaced that Govinda and Sunita were going through marital issues. It was revealed that Sunita had filed for divorce six months ago. However, Govinda’s lawyer, Lalit Bindal, later clarified that the couple had resolved their differences. He told India Today, “We also travelled to Nepal during the New Year and performed puja together at Pashupatinath Mandir. Everything is fine between them now. Such things keep happening between couples, but they are going strong and will always be together.”
Govinda’s film career
Govinda, who was one of Bollywood’s biggest stars in the 1990s, has had fewer film appearances in recent years. His last two films were ‘FryDay’ (2018) and ‘Rangeela Raja’ (2019). While he has not been very active in films lately, his legacy remains strong in Bollywood.
