Ed Sheeran and Arijit take a surprise ride on scooter through Jiaganj |

Ed Sheeran is charming India with his Mathematics Tour, and he recently took a detour to visit singer Arijit Singh in his hometown of Jiaganj, located in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The two musicians were spotted riding a scooter together through the town, delighting local residents who were surprised to see the international pop star without heavy security.
Videos circulating on social media show Arijit driving the scooter with Ed Sheeran riding behind him. They were joined by a few friends on their own scooters, touring the area.
Reportedly, the pair spent nearly five hours exploring Jiaganj, riding from Phulmore to the banks of the Bhagirathi river. They also took an hour-long boat ride on the Bhagirathi from Shibtala ghat.
Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh’s friendship and collaboration have been celebrated on YouTube through various videos. Their connection gained prominence when Ed Sheeran joined Arijit Singh on stage during Arijit’s London concert in September 2024. They performed Ed Sheeran’s hit song “Perfect”. Sheeran later shared a behind-the-scenes video of their rehearsal on Instagram, which was also circulated on YouTube, expressing his admiration for Arijit’s talent after hearing “Tum Hi Ho” in India.
Ed Sheeran’s visit to Arijit’s hometown follows a performance in Bengaluru, where he surprised fans with an impromptu street performance that was cut short by police. At his Bengaluru concert, he also brought out Shilpa Rao, and Arijit joined them in singing the Telugu song “Chuttamalle”.
Sheeran has already performed in Hyderabad and Chennai, where he collaborated with AR Rahman for a rendition of “Urvasi”. He is scheduled to perform next in Shillong on February 12 and in Delhi NCR on February 15.
