Dhruv Vikram’s ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’ inches towards Rs 6 crore mark | Tamil Movie News

Tamil Superstar Chyaan Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram is finally back on the screen after a gap of three years with a sports drama Bison Kaalamaadan, directed by Maria Selvaraj and co-starring Anupama Parmeswaran. The film has also been co-produced by Pa.Ranjith who last collaborated with Vikram on Thangalan.

On its first day Bison collected just Rs 2.55 crore but on its second day ( Saturday) the film witnessed a major jump of over 22 % as it collected Rs 3.12 crore taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 5.67 crore. The film has shown major growth on its second day but the journey for the film won’t be smooth as Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude stands in front of it at the Tamil box office. Dude has minted Rs 19.75 crore in 2 days but based on its second day’s performance one can say that Dude is losing ground.

Tamil Cinema has been going through a churn at the moment as no one among the younger generation has been able to take up the kind of position that was once held by names like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Thalapathy Vijay or Vikram. Both Dhruv and Pradeep came in a breath of fresh air but they will need to prove themselves over a long period of time with box office collections.

Talking about the film; The Times of India in its review states , “ Bison is super long and has a plethora of characters. Few of the characters who are introduced in the latter part of the film don’t evoke the same emotion in us as the characters who we are introduced to earlier.” About Dhruv’s performance the review says , “ Dhruv Vikram’s physical transformation for the film deserves applause and so does his acting. But, it has to be said that the actor fares way better when he has to let out intensity or aggression rather than moments of emotional outburst.”
