Dharmendra is currently stable in the ICU; he was admitted after complaining of breathlessness, says hospital staff member |
Veteran Bollywood superstar Dharmendra has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after reportedly complaining of breathlessness, as per the latest developments. The 89-year-old actor has been under strict medical supervision for the past few days and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Under observation but stable
According to reports, Dharmendra initially visited the hospital for a routine check-up, but his condition required further medical attention. When contacted, a staff member from Breach Candy Hospital confirmed to Vickey Lalwani, “Dharmendra came in complaining of breathlessness. He is in the ICU and is sleeping now.” When asked about his condition, the hospital representative added reassuringly, “No, right now nothing to worry. He is stable. His parameters are okay — the heart rate is 70, the blood pressure is 140/80. His urine output is also good.” While doctors have advised continued observation, there has been no official update on his discharge date. His sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, have adjusted their professional schedules to be by their father’s side during this time. The actor, who turns 90 in December, has had a few health concerns in recent years. Earlier this year, in April, Dharmendra underwent cataract surgery and made a swift recovery. Despite his age, he has continued to stay active both personally and professionally.
His recent and upcoming projects
On the work front, Dharmendra was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. He will next appear in Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan. The war drama stars Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia, and is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. The film also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher in key roles and is slated for a December 2025 release.

Woh Ikkis Ka Tha, Ikkis Ka Hi Rahega!” Fans across the country have flooded social media with messages praying for Dharmendra’s speedy recovery.
