Speaking in an interview with Humans of Bombay, Dhanashree described the divorce as “confusing.” While she said she could handle trolling to an extent, it was her parents who suffered the most. She recalled how overwhelming it became at home—her mother broke down on several occasions, and her parents avoided picking up phones because of constant calls.Acknowledging Chahal’s stronger public position, Dhanashree credited her parents for being her biggest source of strength. They reminded her daily that walking out of the marriage was the right decision.Despite the media frenzy, online trolling and speculation, Dhanashree said she chose to focus on her work rather than react. She admitted that she is still in the process of healing but consciously decided that silence was her best response.
