Ashish Chanchlani expresses his horror over the Pahalgam terror attack: 'Cannot fathom this... truly scary'

On Tuesday afternoon, terrorists opened fire at a popular meadow near Pahalgam, killing at least 26 people, most of them tourists. This is believed to be the deadliest attack in Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama incident.
Celebrities React with Shock and Grief
Amid India’s Got latent controversy, Ashish Chanchlani took to his Instagram story to express his horror over the terror attack. Sharing a picture from the attack, he wrote, ‘Cannot fathom this. They were just on a normal vacation. Truly scary.’

Shah Rukh Khan took to his X handle and wrote, “Words fail to express the sadness and anger at the treachery and inhumane act of violence that has occurred in Pahalgam. In times like these, one can only turn to God and say a prayer for the families that suffered and express my deepest condolences. May we as a Nation, stand united, strong and get justice against this heinous act.”
Salman Khan too shared, “Kashmir, heaven on planet earth turning into hell. Innocent people being targeted, my heart goes out to their families . Ek bhi innocent ko marna puri kainath ko marne ke barabar hai (Killing one innocent person is equals to killing an entire nation).”
Priyanka Chopra shared a strong message on Instagram, condemning the Pahalgam attack. She called the incident “reprehensible,” highlighting that people were simply enjoying vacations or celebrating with loved ones. She expressed deep sorrow over innocent lives being targeted and said it’s not a tragedy that can be easily forgotten.

Several celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Vivek Agnihotri expressed their anguish and demanded justice for the families who lost their loved ones.
Chilling Details Emerge from the Scene
According to police, at least four terrorists opened fire on tourists from close range. A victim’s daughter told PTI that the attackers mainly targeted male tourists and asked them about their religion before shooting. She said the terrorists asked if they were Hindu or Muslim and then chose their targets.

Massive Search Operation Underway
The Resistance Front (TRF), linked to the banned Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the attack. A large-scale search operation is underway, with the Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police sealing off the area. Helicopters were used to airlift the injured, while locals helped carry the wounded on ponies through the rough terrain to Pahalgam.
