Character insights from screenwriter Niren Bhatt
Niren Bhatt, the film’s screenwriter, explains that ‘Munjya’ is seen as a being that is simultaneously monstrous and childlike because it died young. Munjya often causes trouble to fulfill its wishes, frequently focusing on marriage. These spirits have an unusual habit of throwing stones at people standing under trees. Compared to other spirits, Munjyas are mischievous but generally harmless.
