Hania Aamir and Fahad Mustafa‘s ‘Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum‘ got a lot of love, not just from Pakistan but even from India. The show got a lot of popularity globally and it also starred Naeema Butt who played ‘Rubab’ on the show. Her character had some shades of grey and in a recent interview, Naeema has revealed that friendships which are displayed between co-stars on social media are just fake.
In a recent interview, she called out her co-stars of the show, indirectly hinting at Hania and Fahad for completely sidelining her. When asked about friendship, and exchanging pleasantries, Naeema said, “Mujhe lagaa mujhe itni support mil rahi hai Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum Mein. Toh mujhe lagaa my colleagues are appreciating my work and it’s amazing because I have not done many dramas.” She added, “Mujhe lagta raha, aur maine khud hi khayali soch liya, ki ‘Yeah, yeh mere bohot ache dost hain.’ Par aisa kuch tha hi nahi. Real mein jab mile toh haan, but jab camera on hota tha tab lagta tha ‘Wow, it’s amazing.’ Par jaise hi camera off hota, aisa lagta ki aapko stage par bhi aane de rahe, aur aapke saath aisa behave karte. I don’t want to get into details. But it was a learning experience as you realise. Aisa nahi hai ke social media ke liye koi post ki jaaye toh aisa nahi hai ke they are your friends.”
She added, “Basically, they want their appreciation from the audience. Unko dikhana hota hai ki, ‘Bhai, hum kisi se insecure nahi hain. We’re fine, we’re very happy, and we want to support new talent.’ But honestly, everyone is just playing their own game.”
