‘I don’t know how to act in front of a green screen’: Manoj Bajpayee on why he wants to do VFX heavy film
Veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee, with over three decades in cinema, expressed a desire to explore VFX-heavy films, admitting he’s never acted extensively in front of a green screen. He finds the prospect challenging and intriguing. Bajpayee was last seen in ‘Inspector Zende’ and will soon reprise his role as Shrikant Tiwari in ‘The Family Man’ season 3.

Manoj Bajpayee has been part of the industry for over three decades now. The actor has worked in movies of various genres; however, there is still a type of film in which he has not worked yet and would like to feature. The Hindustan Times quoted Manoj Bajpayee saying, “I would love to act in a VFX-heavy film because I really don’t know how to act in front of a green screen.” The actor shared that a lot of people have told him that it’s “quite a challenge and quite a technique.” He further added that he doesn’t know any of that, as he has not done it before, apart from “using that for anchoring or hosting a documentary.”

Bajpayee added, “So, it would be something very interesting.”

The actor was last seen in the film ‘Inspector Zende’, backed by filmmaker Om Raut. Directed by Chinmay Mandlekar, the film stars Manoj Bajpayee and Jim Sarbh in the lead roles. The film is based on Inspector Madhukar Zende of Maharashtra Police, who caught notorious criminal Charles Sobhraj (played by Jim). The film also featured Sachin Khedekar, Girija Oak, Bhalchandra Kadam (aka Bhau Kadam), Vaibhav Mangle, Harish Dudhade, and Onkar Raut as Patekar.The film was released on Netflix on September 5, 2025.Manoj Bajpayee will be back as Shrikant Tiwari in the third installment of his popular web show, ‘The Family Man’. Reportedly, it will be out on OTT at the end of October or in the first week of November.
