Rajat Bedi, who is best remembered for his roles in Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani (2002) and Koi… Mil Gaya (2003), made a striking comeback this year with Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Rajat played actor Jaraj Saxena, a character that quickly became one of the fan favourites in the intense drama. But at the show’s grand premiere, it was Rajat’s stunning 18-year-old daughter, Vera Bedi, who turned heads and stole the spotlight when she accompanied her father on the red carpet.
“She’s excited, but also scared,” says Rajat
In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Rajat opened up about how Vera is coping with the sudden attention. “Right now she’s excited also of the attention she’s getting, she’s scared also because it’s very overwhelming… Woh dar bhi jaati hai,” he shared. The actor added, “Bolti hai ‘Papa everywhere I go now, people…’ they are suddenly staring away at her and she sees all this Instagram pe, pictures of hers which she’s not done, and they have generated things, and I mean she’s just feeling every second thing is coming on her. So she’s getting a little worried also, ‘Papa look what wrong things they are doing’.”
The next-gen Bedi stars are on their way
Vera, who drew comparisons to Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after her debut appearance, is currently focused on her college studies. Her brother, Vivaan Bedi, however, seems all set to follow in his father’s footsteps. Interestingly, Rajat had once assisted Shah Rukh Khan on a film nearly 30 years ago, and now, life has come full circle as Vivaan began his own journey by assisting Aryan Khan on The Ba***ds of Bollywood. A full-fledged launch as an actor is next on the cards for the young Bedi.With fans showering love on his portrayal of Jaraj Saxena, Rajat is expected to return in The Ba***ds of Bollywood Season 2, a development that has already sparked major excitement among viewers.
