'We’ve been waiting for you': Israeli PM Netanyahu, wife pen personal note for hostages; what’s inside the welcome kit

Israeli Prime Minister’s Office released on Monday a personal message written by PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara for the returning hostages. The hostages will also receive welcome packages containing clothing, personal items, electronic devices including a laptop, mobile phone and tablet.The handwritten message reads as, “In the name of all the people of Israel, welcome home! We’ve been waiting for you, we embrace you.”According to Hebrew media reports, seven hostages have been handed over to Red Cross in Gaza, with an additional 14 to be freed later in the morning (local time) from various Gaza locations.

According to Times of Israel, citing Hebrew media, the first group of hostages to be released from northern Gaza comprises Matan Angrest, brothers Gali and Ziv Berman, Alon Ohel, Eitan Mor and Omri Miran. Their families have received notification. The remaining 14 living hostages are scheduled for release later in the morning from different Gaza sectors.The Israeli Defence Forces reported receiving information about Red Cross proceeding to a northern Gaza meeting point for the hostage transfer. They stated their readiness to receive additional hostages expected to be transferred to Red Cross custody subsequently.According to Times of Israel, the Red Cross will transport the hostages to IDF forces within Gaza. Subsequently, they will be escorted to an army facility near Re’im for initial health assessments and family reunions.At Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square, increasing numbers of people have gathered, with some participating in Hoshana Rabba service prayers while awaiting the hostages’ release.The agreement, as outlined by US President Donald Trump, includes Israel’s commitment to release approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli hostages. The deal also ensures immediate delivery of comprehensive aid to Gaza, where severe food shortages and famine conditions persist in certain areas.
