Former Haryana minister Jaswant Singh’s wife Sushila Devi passes away | Chandigarh News
HISAR: Sushila Devi, wife of former Haryana minister Chaudhary Jaswant Singh, passed away on Sunday. Her last rites were performed at the cremation ground in Sector 16–17, Hisar, where her son Jaspal Singh lit the funeral pyre.Chaudhary Jaswant Singh, who passed away earlier on July 26, 2024, served as a minister three times in the governments of Rao Virendra Singh, Bansi Lal, and Om Prakash Chautala. He was first elected as an independent MLA from Mundhal in 1967 and served as minister of health, agriculture, and law in Rao Virendra Singh’s cabinet.Later, as a Haryana Vikas Party MLA from Narnaund in 1996, he became minister of electricity, public health, and animal husbandry. In 1999, he served as minister of food and supplies in the Chautala govt. Family members, friends, and well-wishers attended the funeral to pay their respects.
