Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ beats Prabhas’s Saaho to become the 7th biggest Telugu hit of all time
Pawan Kalyan’s latest hit, ‘They Call Him OG,’ has taken the box office by storm, now standing tall as the 7th highest Telugu earner. Surpassing Prabhas’s ‘Saaho’ in terms of collections, it shattered records with an impressive Rs 21 crore during its premiere. With a current global tally of Rs 161.

Pawan Kalyan has been on a mission after the debacle of his last film Hari Hara Veer Mallu which began on a good note but couldn’t sustain the buzz. With his latest film the actor has not only breached into the top 10 Telugu grosser of all time, it has now reached the 7th spot beating ir’s director Sujeeth’s last film Saaho which was headlined by Prabhas.

They Call Him OG took a fabulous start where it earned Rs 21 crore from it’s premiere shows- the highest amount for premiere shows in India. On day 1 the film collected Rs 63 crore followed by Rs 17.85 crore on day 2, Rs 17.7 on day 3 and Rs 17.55 on day 4. On the first Monday the film collected Rs 6.95 crore and on Tuesday the collections stayed steady with Rs 6.7 crore and on Wednesday it earned Rs 6.14 crore, taking the overall Telugu collection to Rs 156.89 crore. And with that the film has gone past Saaho’s Telugu record of Rs 152.68 crore and has claimed the 7th spot of highest grossing films.

The other top grossers of Telugu cinema are

RRR – Rs 431 crore

Pushpa 2: The Rule -Rs 342 crore

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion -Rs 338 crore

Kalki 2898 AD-Rs 287 crore

Devara: Part 1- Rs 220 crore

Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire -Rs 218 crore

With today being Dussehra holiday and weekend kicking off from tomorrow, They Call Him OG would be hoping to add another Rs 20-25 crore to it’s kitty just from the Telugu version. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 161.39 crore and post weekend it would be closer to Rs 200 crore mark. The film has been minting money not just in India but the trend is taking pace throughout the globe where North American circuit stands at Rs 5.27 million mark.
