CM Hemant Soren inaugurates Harmu, Ratu Road pandals as Durga Puja festivities begin in Ranchi | Ranchi News
Ranchi: Two of the city’s prominent Durga Puja pandals – Harmu Panch Mandir and R R Sporting Club – were inaugurated by chief minister Hemant Soren on Friday evening. After the formal inauguration, the pandals were thrown open for visitors as rain lashed parts of the city.Flanked by organizers, Soren offered prayers to Goddess Durga. “Like every year, the enthusiasm for Durga Puja is at its peak. Despite intermittent rain, devotees are celebrating this sacred festival with joy and devotion. I extend my heartfelt greetings to all residents of Jharkhand and the Durga Puja committees,” he said.“May Maa Durga bless everyone with prosperity, happiness, and progress. May Jharkhand continue to move forward on the path of development,” he further said.At Harmu Panch Mandir, a grand replica of Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir was unveiled. The pandal displayed intricate craftsmanship, with Krishna Leela depicted through artistic installations, lighting effects, and electrical decorations. Constructed using natural materials, the pandal impressed visitors with its aesthetic appeal and attention to detail.Other prominent pandals were also inaugurated on Friday. Union minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth inaugurated the Chandrashekhar Azad Durga Puja Pandal. The inauguration was followed by a devotional evening featuring performances by bhajan singers, adding a spiritual aura to the celebrations.Despite intermittent rain and brief waterlogging in few parts of the city, pandal hoppers came out in numbers and took a tour of the pandals on Chaturthi evening. Abhilasha Singh, a local, said, “The opening of these pandals signalled the start of Durga Puja celebrations across the city, with most of the city’s puja committees welcoming devotees from Friday evening onwards.”
