‘Nice to Not Meet You’ is an upcoming Korean drama that is set to be released on one of the most popular OTT platforms online. Lee Jung Jae and Lim Ji Yeon have officially been confirmed as the main leads for the project, creating major buzz online. This will also mark the two actors’ big return to the romance genre.
‘Nice To Meet You’ gets cast confirmation
This Korean drama marks Lee Jung Jae’s first project after the final season of his hit series ‘The Squid Game’ aired online. Lim Ji Yeon, who is known for her villainous role in ‘The Glory’, will albo be returning to the romance genre after a long time. On August 1, the production house for the drama confirmed the news as they shared photos of the actors from the official first script reading of ‘Nice To Meet You’. While this is the English translation for the show’s name, in Korean, it directly means ‘Annoying Love’ or ‘Petty Love’.Other than Jung Jae and Ji Yeon, actors Kim Ji Hoon from ‘Flower of Evil’ and ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area – Part 1 and 2’, and Seo Ji Hye from ‘Adamas’ and ‘Love Next Door’, will also be joining the main leads in pivotal roles. While the date of release is yet to be confirmed, as per the social media post, the drama will air sometime in the second half of the year.
About ‘Nice To Meet You’
The photos shared online from the script reading were shared with the caption, “The deep chemistry between a pop star and an entertainment reporter”. Jung Jae will be taking on the role of a prolific actor who has been getting stereotypical roles of playing a detective or police officer. He, however, wishes to switch to the romance genre in order to ease the load of his work.On the other hand, Ji Yeon will be playing the role of an entertainment reporter who was sent to the desk as a punishment, after her career as an award-winning political journalist spiralled after she got involved with a corruption scandal. Kim Ji Hoon will take on the role of a former baseball player who now owns a sports magazine. Even though he does not care for women, once he meets Ji Yeon’s character, things change for him. Lastly, Seo Ji Hye will be taking on the role of the entertainment lead of the magazine, and will also play the role of Ji Hoon’s ex.
