‘Coolie’, the upcoming Tamil action film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring superstar Rajinikanth is gearing up for its big theatrical release. But, before the film can take over the big screens on August 14, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is known for making action-packed films with intense violence, is spilling the tea on what fans can expect in his first venture with Superstar Rajinikanth.As the superstar is known for keeping his movies family-friendly, many have been wondering if Lokesh had to tone down the violence in ‘Coolie’.
Not Making Any Compromises
In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Lokesh made it clear that he hasn’t made any compromises with the action sequences in his upcoming film. He said, “It is going to trigger all the emotions that a family audience would want. At the same I don’t want to lose my grip on the film. I don’t want to do PG-13 film. I have not avoided guns and drugs in the film, the godowns… It will have a lot of adrenaline rush, which we have not seen in Rajini sir’s films in a while.”
‘Coolie’ is set to clash with ‘War 2 ’
There’s also news about the film’s release. ‘Coolie’ is set to clash with the Hindi film ‘War 2’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Since Yash Raj Films is producing ‘War 2’, they’ve already booked most IMAX screens around the world, which means ‘Coolie’ might not get many IMAX slots. However, there is no official confirmation about the same.
