Sidharth Malhotra paid a heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers of the 1999 Kargil War on Kargil Vijay Diwas. The actor, who played Captain Vikram Batra in the 2021 film ‘Shershaah’, shared a powerful message to honour their sacrifice.Taking to social media on Saturday, Sidharth wrote, “To the countless brave hearts who stood tall so we could sleep safe & sound, your spirit lives on in every heartbeat of a proud and graceful nation. Saluting your sacrifice, today and always. #KargilVijayDiwas.”Along with his message, he also posted a picture of Captain Vikram Batra, who lost his life while fighting Pakistani troops and was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra.

Captain Vikram Batra became one of the most celebrated heroes of the Kargil War. Sidharth starred as Captain Batra in ‘Shershaah’, a biographical war film directed by Vishnuvardhan. The film was released in 2021 and told the story of Batra’s life, his heroic actions, and ultimate sacrifice during the Kargil War.Kiara Advani played the role of Dimple Cheema, Batra’s fiancée, in the film. Their bond grew off-screen, and they tied the knot in a private ceremony later. This month has also been extra special for Sidharth on the personal front. On 16 July, he and his wife, actress Kiara Advani, welcomed their first child, a baby girl.The couple made the announcement on Instagram with a simple yet joyful pink post that read: “Our hearts are full and our world forever changed. We are blessed with a Baby Girl. KIARA & SIDHARTH.” Sidharth captioned the post with a red heart, a namaste, and an evil eye emoji. The announcement was met with warm wishes from friends, fans, and fellow actors, who poured in their congratulations for the couple.
