Over 30 injured in separate bus accidents returning from Allahabad pilgrimage

INDORE: More than 30 people were injured in two separate incidents when buses taking pilgrims back to Gujarat from Allahabad met with accidents in Garoth and Simrol on Tuesday early morning.
In the first incident, a bus was on its way from Allahabad to Gujarat and covered nearly 20 kilometres from Garoth when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. The incident led to chaos on the highway, with passengers stranded on the roadside awaiting assistance.
Upon receiving information about the accident, the local administration promptly responded by dispatching emergency services to the scene. The injured passengers were rushed to the govt hospital in Garoth, where a team of doctors is currently providing medical treatment.
Authorities, including local police and administrative officials, have initiated an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings indicate that the bus was operating on its routine route from Prayagraj to Vadodara. Police are questioning the driver to determine the exact cause of the accident. The police are examining all possible factors, including vehicle condition, road conditions, and driver fatigue, that may have contributed to the mishap.
Meanwhile, in the second accident, a tourist bus lost control and overturned early in the morning at Simrol Ghat, injuring nine passengers. The injured were initially taken to Madhya Bharat Hospital in Mhow and later referred to MY Hospital for further treatment. According to police reports, all the injured passengers are in stable condition.
ASP Rupesh Dwivedi said that the accident occurred around 4.40am. A convoy of three buses was traveling together when the driver miscalculated a turn, leading to the accident. The bus was carrying passengers from Gandhigram, Gujarat, who were on a pilgrimage after attending the Kumbh in Allahabad, traveling via Ujjain to Omkareshwar. The remaining passengers were sent ahead in another vehicle.
All injured passengers are receiving treatment at MY Hospital.
