Sai Pallavi is celebrated for her acting skills and natural beauty and is currently basking in the success of her recent release ‘Thandel.’. The actor recently opened up about her aspiration to win a National Award. During an interview, she revealed that her dream is deeply tied to a special saree gifted to her by her grandmother when she was just 21 years old.
While speaking with Galatta Plus, the ‘Amaran’ star shared that she always wanted to win a National Award because when she was 21 years old, her grandmother gave her a saree and had given her a saree with the hope that she would wear it on her wedding day. At the time, she had not yet made her acting debut, but the thought of wearing the saree for a significant occasion lingered in her mind. As she pursued her acting career, particularly after the success of ‘Premam,’ she began to envision wearing the saree at a National Award ceremony, believing that one day she would achieve this prestigious honor.
The actress expressed that the pressure of this dream remains with her until she finally wears the saree. She acknowledged that while winning an award is important, it is the emotional connection to her grandmother and the memories associated with the saree that make it truly special. She said, “As I was nearing 23-24, I did Premam. I thought I would win a big award someday, and at that time the National Award was a big one, and I thought I would wear the saree then. Whether I win or not, the pressure is there until I wear that saree.”
Last year, Sai Pallavi’s fans were disappointed when she lost the National Award to fellow actress Nithya Menen for her performance in ‘Gargi.’. Many believed that Sai Pallavi’s portrayal in ‘Gargi’ deserved recognition.
