Man dies of electrocution in Karnataka's Kodiyala village

MANGALURU: A 48-year-old man reportedly died of electrocution in Kodiyala village, Sullia taluk, on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as K Divakara.According to a complaint filed by his elder brother, K Thyagaraj, Divakara had left home in the morning. Around 7.00 am, while Thyagaraj was walking along a road on his farmland, approximately 100 metres from their house, he noticed a broken electric wire lying on the road. Moments later, he found Divakara lying motionless on the ground, suspected to have come into contact with the live wire.Thyagaraj immediately informed Vasanth M, a lineman from Mescom. Power supply to the area was promptly disconnected by Mescom staff.Upon checking, Thyagaraj discovered that his brother had allegedly died due to electrocution. A case has been registered at Bellare Police Station.
