“I’m not worried at all”: Matthew Tkachuk expressed on leaving the game against Team Canada due to lower-body injury

Matthew Tkachuk made a strong admission about his NHL career after Team USA’s victory over Team Canada, following captain Sidney Crosby’s victory. Tkachuk played a crucial role in the victory over the Canadian team, despite being less dominant than in the win over Finland. He played just over 10 minutes and was unable to maintain his dominance due to a supposed injury he asked to stay off the ice in the third period.

Matthew Tkachuk’s bold admission after the win over Team Canada

Team USA defeated Team Canada 3-1 in the Four Nations Face-Off final, with captain Sidney Crosby’s team advancing. Matthew Tkachuk, who requested not to play in the third quarter, was later announced to have suffered a lower-body injury.
Coach Mike Sullivan stated that Tkachuk is currently under evaluation and is uncertain if he will be able to play again in the tournament. “We’ll make decisions that we think is best for Matthew and we think is best for our team. Right now, I don’t have a lot of information to go on, so it’s hard for me to give you more,” he said.
Tkachuk, who had been anticipating a moment for nine years, warned Crosby’s team before the game. Despite not finishing, he couldn’t hide his emotions after the win over the Canadiens. “Other than Game 7 (of the Stanley Cup Final with the Florida Panthers) last year, this has been the highlight of my hockey career. I’m just going to enjoy it with the guys. We have such a fun group in there, and it’s going to be a fun plane ride tonight. Lots of laughs. We’re having a lot of fun with those guys,” Tkachuk admitted.
The forward of Team USA and Panthers expressed his emotions after leaving the game against Team Canada due to an injury. “I’m not worried at all. I feel good, I’m definitely a lot better after a win. Everything should be fine. I’m just going to enjoy this win tonight,” Tkachuk said.
