NEW DELHI: At least 15 people lost their lives including 3 children, and several others were injured in a stampede at New Delhi Railway Station late Saturday night. The chaos unfolded after a massive crowd gathered following the announcement of a special train for the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Within 15-20 minutes, a surge in passengers led to disorder, multiple casualties, and injuries.
Eyewitnesses said the situation worsened due to delays in two trains, leading to an unexpected influx of passengers. As people rushed to board, some fainted amid the crush, sparking rumours of a stampede and triggering further panic.
